Interesting take on how process can improve safety, but transparency is missing from this discussion. Open up the safety records (infection rates, never events, etc.) to the public and “let the market decide.” The more patient safety effects a hospital’s or physician’s bottom line and reputation, the more incentive they have to make it a priority.
